The Support To Enhance Potential (STEP) project, provides intensive and bespoke support to Trafford and Salford residents with mental health problems that wish to access volunteering opportunities or employment. The project is designed to help people to move on and overcome some of the challenges that they may face gaining suitable placements.
Working at the individuals pace, a bespoke one to one service is provided along with skills specific workshops and peer mentoring. Participants work through a personalised and tailored personal development plan that will help them to enhance their self-esteem and confidence, manage their ill health and prepare for their volunteering or employment placements.
Placement organisations will be supported to better understand mental health and its impact, and advised on how to support their own staff along with participants from the project.
The project is funded by Lloyds Bank Foundation.
To be considered for the STEP project you must be a over 17 years old and have had a mental illness diagnosis.
